The Milkman

The Milkman
My Father delivering Berkeley Farms milk

This is a series of essays on anything I feel like espousing, ranting, or sharing. Some of it is on the quirky things in life, some on our travels, and some is just my opinion on the political world. Enjoy

Contemplating my navel #139

Snail On The Wall

Why do snails crawl up walls

Setting themselves up for falls

What is it that they seek up there

So far away from their usual lair

There is no food, no mate, no draw

Or force that comes from nature’s law

And yet I find them on the edge

Upon the acme of my roof’s ledge

All we can do is contemplate

And with a flick we seal their fate

Until there comes another rain

And up the wall they crawl again

Then the question returns for all

Why do snails crawl up walls?
